Lewis Companies Inc. is known for its personable style, strong professional ethics and timely project delivery. The firm has developed a unique and creative methodology, which ensures performance excellence for all search projects. Lewis Companies Inc.’s strategic project methodology is comprised of five-phases.

Phase 1:

Client Briefing Session

Every search project begins with executive management meetings in order to determine the skills and responsibilities required for the respective position(s) and to gain an understanding of the role within the organization. Documents such as annual reports, human resource strategies and job specifications are reviewed to obtain an appreciation of the context within which the position will be established or restructured.

Phase 2:

Develop Position Outline

The combination of input from clients, as well as the search firm’s understanding of the search project, leads to the development of a Position Outline. This document accurately and completely reflects the unique duties and responsibilities of each position and its fit within the overall structure of the organization.

The Position Outline describes in detail the:

mission, vision, history, commercial overview, organizational structure and requirements, strategic plans, trends and key selling points of the company
position classification, function, responsibilities, reporting lines, career development, education, technical and behavioral competencies
mandatory and preferable requirements as well as characteristics best suited to the organization
base salary, bonus structure, options, shares, club membership, vehicle, car allowance, medical benefits package and vacation allowance

The Position Outline is Lewis Companies Inc.'s written representation of client requirements to perspective candidates. It is also the working paper for the search project.

Phase 3:

Define Target Resource List

In conjunction with the development of the Position Outline, a Target Resource List is developed. This list is a critical tool and roadmap of the search project. Prior to any search activity taking place, the Position Outline and Target Resource List must be approved by the client.

Phase 4:

Conduct Search and Shortlist Candidates

Candidate résumés, with comments, are developed in a standard format and are delivered in a timely manner for interview scheduling. Emphasis is placed on attractive, well-informed client representation. Candidates are managed professionally throughout the search process and unsuccessful candidates are thanked in writing. Upon completion of the interview process, a shortlist of candidates is developed and presented to the client. Lewis Companies Inc. takes a lead role in advising clients of each selected candidate’s potential that have been selected. Interviews are conducted between the client and the shortlisted candidates.

Phase 5:

Finalize Successful Candidates

Extensive reference verifications are conducted by Lewis Companies Inc. and are presented to the client in writing. Third party referencing is conducted should it be required. Negotiations regarding the compensation package are conducted by Lewis Companies Inc. Once the successful candidate is a member of the client organization, Lewis Companies Inc. monitors the executive’s development and offers on-going support when required.
